Mission Statement It is our mission to save as many surplus textbooks and library books from shredders and landfills. To meet that end, we opened the book room in 1991 as a place of collection and distribution of these homeless" books. In doing so, we have this unique opportunity to serve our community's need. Sacramento Surplus Book Room proceeds go directly into salvaging and distributing books that would otherwise be destroyed. We have been designated by the I.R.S. as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This means any contribution or donation you wish to make is tax deductible as a charitable contribution. We gather and distribute books from school districts and libraries from more than a dozen counties in Northern California with our mostly-volunteer staff. Though we cannot offer a catalog for mail ordering at this time, we hope to have, in the near future, a lengthy list of our inventory on-line for your use.
